Instructions to setup DNS & SMTP

Steps to Setup DNS Record:

You can go to your registrar (e.g. godaddy, namecheap, google, etc) and open DNS settings of your domain then follow the following steps:

  1. Create a CNAME type Record
  2. Host value should be <subdomain_name_here>
  3. Points to value should be app.linkedcamp.com
  4. Save the record.

Sometimes it takes upto 24 hours to propagate domain properly on the newly added A record. Once the domain is propagated properly we will start the setup on our end.

3. SMTP:

This tab will help you configure SMTP credentials (NOTE: SMTP credentials are used to send emails from your registered email server). By Default LinkedCamp SMTP credentials will be used, cons of this is that your clients will be able to see that email is coming from linkedcamp mail server, if you have your SMTP setup they will see that it is coming from your mail server.

Steps to Setup SMTP (Mailgun):

  1. Signup on mailgun.com (it gives upto 2,000 emails / month for free)
  2. Follow this guide: https://documentation.mailgun.com/en/latest/quickstart-sending.html#verify-your-domain
  3. Once everything is set up as per guide in Point # 2. Add your smtp credentials in Agency > SMTP.

Steps to Setup SMTP (GMAIL):

  1. Host: smtp.gmail.com
  2. Port: 587
  3. Username: gmail_email_address_here
